The Role

The Digital Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing ongoing digital modelling assistance to our project delivery team as well as also managing the as-built process (transfer, tracking & checking of digital files).

In addition to the above the key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Work with construction/survey teams to agree & define SoW for critical areas where Digital Engineering (DE), Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can add value. This can include 3D models, 4D sequences, Quantification or Coordination exercises.
  • Definition of contractual DE/BIM/GIS requirements & DE/BIM/GIS SoW for future sub-contractors.
  • Additional guidance to subcontractors on DE/BIM/GIS related matters where required.
  • Review of subcontractor’s models & ensure coordination at interfaces.
  • Review / redlining of subcontractor’s drawings within Bluebeam and Revizto.
  • Development of strategy for delivering As-Built documentation and associated digital data.
  • Presentations: clearly present issues within the model and facilitate discussion between construction & design to drive value for money outcomes.

You will have

  • Experience in Managing Digital Engineering through design and construction phase of major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of DE, BIM, GIS, and Virtual Design and Construct, collaboration and special authoring applications and associated platforms and information management.
  • Demonstrated capability developing and supporting the integration of multiple complex DE, BIM, GIS and CAD models, and experience in establishment of project data structures and information management protocols.
  • A strong level of technical knowledge relating to digital standards and demonstrated capability on large infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to influence with strong management skills and comfort in engaging with all project stakeholders including client.
  • Experience in developing strategy for full project lifecycle approach to digital delivery.
  • Ability to lead, engage and inspire the Digital Engineering team and wider project team to adopt digital processes and technology.
  • Degree in engineering, similar or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience on large infrastructure projects.
  • General understanding of design/engineering/construction.
  • Understanding of the capabilities/outputs of other DE/BIM/GIS software packages utilised by subcontractors and interfacing parties
  • Ability/experience working with high level of detail models.
